Aaron Rinehart leads Oracle’s Cloud & AI Safety organization delivering a durable operational engineering safety framework for the company.
Aaron’s focus is outcome over intent: reducing undesirable results and uncertainty in Oracle’s products and services by turning learning into repeatable mechanisms, tooling, and operational practices. At Oracle, he has helped establish Operational Engineering Safety as a first-class discipline and has been central to pioneering a new approach of systematically identifying, investigating, and mitigating systemic safety hazards that could potentially disrupt the business or present customers with harm. Under Aaron’s leadership, Oracle’s safety capability has moved from concept to operational practice through foundational systems designed to help Oracle continue innovating boldly while protecting customers and strengthening their trust.
Before Oracle, Aaron developed broad experience solving complex engineering challenges across the technology industry, from startups to Fortune 4 companies. He is widely recognized as a pioneer in advancing Chaos Engineering, particularly its application to safety-critical domains such as cybersecurity. He began shaping Chaos Engineering practices in cybersecurity while serving as Chief Security Architect at UnitedHealth Group, the world’s largest healthcare company.
Aaron is an active keynote speaker and has presented at venues including The National Press Club, ABC News, TheWashington Post, TechTarget, O’Reilly Velocity, RSA, Black Hat, GOTO, QCon, Carnegie Mellon, The Linux Foundation, DarkReading, and IEEE. His personal mission is to help people see new perspectives—and to prove that better outcomes are achievable, even when they initially seem impossible.
